Endometriosis
What is Endometriosis
Endometriosis is a disorder in which tissue resembling the
uterine lining grows in other locations, such as the fallopian tubes or
ovaries. Endometriosis can affect women of all ages, even adolescents. It
is a chronic condition that can have a big impact on your life.
What Are The Symptoms Of Endometriosis?
The most frequently occurring symptoms of endometriosis
include:
- Very painful menstrual cramps. The discomfort may worsen over time
- Lower back and pelvic pain that is persistent (ongoing).
- Discomfort during or after sexual activity. This type of pain is generally classified as "deep" and is distinguished from the ache felt at the vaginal entrance as entry begins.
- The ache in the belly
- Cramps in the bowels or bladder pain when menstruating. Additionally, blood can occasionally be found in feces and pee, but this is extremely rare.
- Spots of blood between periods.
- Inability to conceive, often known as infertility.
- Nausea, bowel obstruction, diarrhea, abdominal distention
These symptoms might be moderate or severe and have a tendency to fluctuate.

This pain is caused by fibrosis and inflammation.
Additionally, scar tissue can form when endometrial-like tissue grows outside of your uterus (adhesions). These pieces of scar tissue can make connections between your organs that wouldn’t be there otherwise. This leads to discomfort.
How Is Endometriosis Diagnosed?
Doctors may diagnose endometriosis based on a patient’s medical history or physical examination, and may use the following diagnostic tools:
1. laparoscopy
A small incision is made in the patient’s belly, and a thin tube with a camera and light is inserted into the incision. As a result, the doctor can check for signs of endometrial tissue growth in the tissues surrounding the uterus.
2. Biopsy
If the doctor notices abnormal tissue, she or he may use a small instrument to pick off a few cells and transfer them to a lab for further examination.
These two methods are surgical, but non-invasive diagnosti
